Our Teams Take on a Skydive for Make-A-Wish

Seven of us. One aircraft. A very long drop.

And, as it turns out, a little more time to prepare than we expected.

Our skydive in aid of Make-A-Wish UK was originally scheduled for 15 May, but the British weather had other ideas. Our jump will now been rescheduled to later this summer, which means more time to train, more time to mentally prepare, and crucially, more time to raise funds for a cause that deserves every cent.

Make-A-Wish grants life-changing wishes to children and young people living with critical illnesses. For families navigating an incredibly difficult time, a wish granted – whether it’s meeting a hero, visiting somewhere magical, or simply having a day that feels truly theirs — can provide hope and joy when it’s needed most.

The SHB team has been proud to support Make-A-Wish for a number of years. Raising over £60,000 is a milestone we’re genuinely proud of, and one that reflects the long-term commitment from everyone across our group who has fundraised, donated, and taken part over the years. This skydive is the next chapter.

What makes this challenge particularly meaningful is how it is bringing our wider ecosystem together. Four members of the SHB team, two from Papilio Property Management, and one from Pattrn Furniture all signed up for the same slightly alarming morning in July.

SHB Real Estate, Papilio, and Pattrn work in close collaboration, sharing values and working alongside one another across the full spectrum of real estate acquisitions, management, occupation and interiors. Getting our colleagues from across that group together reflects the importance of the relationships we build.

With the rescheduled date now in July, there’s a window to get behind the team before the jump takes place. Every donation – however large or small – goes directly towards granting wishes for children and young people who need them most.
